Slow Way Round

The Slow Way Round is an upcoming cycle/train/ferry trip from the UK to Vietnam completed by Ludovic Gardner & Max Bancroft. It begins on the 1st May 2024.

Inspired by the motorcycle documentary The Long Way Round and the philosophy of slow travel, Ludo left his job and life in London behind to see the earth on 2 wheels.

Max has wanted to travel ever since leaving university. Although the idea of cycling to Vietnam scares him a bit, getting to explore the world with a lower impact on the environment satisfies the geographer’s part of his brain.

Ludo & Max met at university where they initially bonded over a bitter sporting rivalry between Portsmouth FC and Southampton FC. Whilst the rivalry remains, they just about manage to maintain a cordial friendship.

Though the trip is not intended to raise money for a particular charity or cause, Ludo & Max have a list of region-specific causes you can donate to!
